An Artistic Journey Through Algae, Design, and Sustainability at Fuorisalone 2025
On the occasion of Fuorisalone 2025, The Baltic Vibe presents Algae Unveiled, an exhibition hosted at the Vetra Building. Algae Unveiled merges art, science, and environmental responsibility to raise awareness about the dual nature of algae: both a key resource for a sustainable future and an environmental challenge to be addressed. The event weaves together art, nature, and scientific research, unveiling the potential of algae for the creation of innovative materials and sustainable solutions.
A long-standing collaboration between Gobbetto and Latvian artist Valentinaki, joined by Lorenzo Bucciarelli, gives life to the outdoor installation BLACK ALGAE. This work addresses environmental issues and the protection of marine ecosystems, focusing on the integration of nature-based solutions into sustainable projects. The installation, created using Gobbetto resins, explores the phenomenon of toxic algae in the Baltic Sea and the issue of marine pollution. Through a chromatic interplay of green and black, the piece evokes the fragile balance of aquatic ecosystems and encourages reflection on the impact of human activity on nature.
